SmartyPig is no longer available to new customers as of 11 May 2012. If you are looking for a savings account which may suit your needs visit ANZ Save.

If you’re a Smarty Pig customer, from 11 May 2012, you will no longer be able to create new goals, manually transfer money into your Smarty Pig account or automatically transfer funds to your Smarty Pig account by direct debit from your linked account.

SmartyPig - Frequently asked questions
Will I lose the money I have with SmartyPig?
No, you may withdraw your funds yourself prior to 8 June 2012. If there are any funds still in your SmartyPig account on the 8th of June, your account will be closed automatically, and your funds returned to your linked funding source account.
Will I still receive interest for my SmartyPig savings until my account is closed?
Yes, on the day that your SmartyPig account is closed, interest will be calculated and paid, along with your savings to your linked funding source account.
Can I still close my SmartyPig goal to receive Retailer gift cards with a value boost?
Yes, you may still select retailer gift cards when closing your goal. You must close your goal before June the 8th to select this option.
Can my friends and family still buy SmartyPig gift cards to help me reach my savings goal?
No, unfortunately SmartyPig gift cards will no longer be available for sale from 11 May 2012.
Can I create a new SmartyPig savings goal?
No, unfortunately SmartyPig Australia customers will no longer be able to open new accounts or start new goals from the 8 May 2012.
What alternative products does ANZ offer?
ANZ offers a range of accounts designed to help customers save for their financial goals. Customers can view Savings account options, speak to a sales representative on 1800 008 177 from 8.00am to 8.00pm (AEST) Monday to Friday, or visit any ANZ branch for a complimentary A-Z Review, which is like a 'financial healthcheck' and provides recommendations on how to meet financial goals sooner.
Why is ANZ closing the SmartyPig product in Australia?
ANZ has reviewed our savings products and has decided to focus more on ANZ branded deposit products which means we'll be discontinuing SmartyPig as of 8 June 2012.
How will ANZ provide the savings calculators and advice that was provided by SmartyPig?
We know SmartyPig helped savers think about their financial goals, we encourage customers to drop into an ANZ branch for a complimentary A-Z Review, which is like a 'financial healthcheck' and provides recommendations on how to meet financial goals sooner.
How will ANZ compensate me for the fact that I can no longer save with SmartyPig?
While our terms and conditions allow us to close customer accounts, We recognise people might be disappointed, so we're offering a bonus interest rate of 1.75% p.a. above the standard variable rate until 30 September 2012 to account holders who switch to an ANZ Online Saver account before 31 May 2012. ANZ Online Saver terms and conditions apply.
I tried to find the Smarty Pig Twitter and/or Facebook page and they are no longer there?
We have decommissioned these pages as a result of the product discontinuation, you can still talk to us via our ANZ Australia twitter account @anz_au or by calling 1800 267 808.
Can I change my linked funding source account?
Unfortunately SmartyPig can no longer add any new linked funding source accounts. If we are unable to return your funds to the funding source we currently have on file, your funds will be returned to you via a cheque sent to your mailing address.
